The WSCB has an Executive Board and five Sub-Committees:

The WSCB Executive Board is the strategic and decision making body.

The Board is the forum in which all the main partners working with children and young people are represented in order to focus on promoting the the wellbeing of children and safeguarding them from risk and harm.

Strategies are agreed by the Executive Board and areas for development or improvement are considered by the Monitoring Sub-Committee to agree how best to set expectations of best practice throughout the workforce and how best to implement the Executive Board's decisions or development areas.

The five WSCB Sub-Committees are:

  • Serious Cases, Improvement and Learning (SCIL)
  • Child Death Overview Panel
  • Monitoring Sub-Committee
  • Training & Workforce Development Sub-Committee 
  • Front Door Strategic Work Group
